Panasonic TH-50PF30E TH-42PF30E 3D Ready Plasma Displays

Panasonic have now released information on the first two models from the new 3D ready plasma display range – the Panasonic TH-50PF30E and Panasonic TH-42PF30E.

A new plasma panel structure has achieved 5,000,000:1 native contrast. From robust blacks to dazzling whites, images are faithfully produced with rich graduation and remarkable depth.

Fast moving phosphors have increased motion image display performance to approximatelty 1.5 times the speed of conventional Panasonic models. Afterglow has been shortened to approx 1/3 the previous level, so even fast-moving images are displayed with excellent stability and minimal blurring.

When 3D images are shown on display devices that have a slow panel response, the left-eye and right-eye images often overlap to produce double images. In addition to incorporating fast-switching phosphors, the PF30 Series features original light emission control technology that reduces double images and displays crisp 3D images.

The long-life plasma displays bright, beautiful images for approximately 100,000 hours.

Optional extras includes the Panasonic TY-3D30TRW 3D IR transmitter.

Panasonic Launches New TH-50PH30E Plasma Display

The Panasonic TH-50PH30E (TH50PH30) has just been launched by Panasonic Commercial Division. Although designed primarily for point of sale applications there are many display panels used in the home where freeview and tuners are not required as an integral part of the screen.

Panasonic announces the new VT Series of 3D plasma TVs. The sizes range from a 42″ to the 65″ with the following model numbers Panasonic TX-P65VT30B, TX-P55VT30B, TX-P50VT30B, TX-P42VT30B. New technology has increased the quality of 3D and all four sizes now are Wi-Fi ready fo home networking and also include integral SD card recording. The 42″ and 50″ will be available in April with the 55″ in May and the 65″ in June.

3D at KHC! The Panasonic TX-P50VT20 3D Plasma TV & Panasonic DMP-BDT300 3D Blu-ray Player – here at Kent Home Cinema for demo.

I have never seen a plasma TV and Blu-ray player installed so quickly! After a bit of fine tuning and adjustment (that was just the pair of 3D glasses!) we popped in a demo disc. Even the disc menu pops out at you or sinks deep into the screen. Soon we were diving in the Red Sea, walking through Rome and flying across the Grand Canyons!!

The Panasonic TX-P50VT20 is a very impressive plasma indeed, as is the Panasonic DMP-BDT300 3D Blu-ray Player a fine Blu-ray player. We obviously started with 3D material as the anticipation was too great. All of us had seen 3D in various versions over the years at the cinema, some of us even remember seeing JawsIII with cardboard glasses, but no one had witnessed a TV presenting 3D. So far the reaction is very positive, but you do have to adjust how you watch TV in this new format – I’m sure we’ll manage!

We did also watch some material in 2D HD and again the picture quality was excellent. The Panasonic engineers have obviously worked hard to achieve 3D HD and in doing so 2D HD is further improved as a result.

This is just a taster and further bulletins will be added as we start to get more technical and get more material to try out.

Panasonic TH-42PF20 and TH-50PF20 Plasma Displays

Panasonic launch their new Panasonic TH-42PF20 42″ plasma display as well as the 50″ version Panasonic TH-50PF20 priced at £1,295.00 and £1,950.00 respectively. These replace the popular PF11 range.

Both displays should be available by the end of April
